You Are Not Alone By Mya Patten

Mental illnesses is not something anyone should take lightly. If no one takes action for their mental illness, or even if they see someone going through a mental illness, it can lead to suicide. Suicide can not be gained back, once someone commits it, it is a forever thing that people around the person who committed suicide and everyone else has to live with. Suicide is a major public health concern all through America, especially in teens. The National Institute of Mental Health states that, “40,000 people die by suicide each year in the United States; it is the 10th leading cause of death overall”. With that being said it is still preventable with the help of others. If you or anyone that you know of is not acting the same, not eating, being really depressed or any  other “out-of-the-ordinary” symptoms , please tell a trusted adult around you. Saying one word can help save a life of someone you love, or even yourself. No one ever fights alone.
