LSHS Mourns Great Loss

By Andrew Stringer

As some of you may know, Wednesday, September 14th 2016 was a very tough day for the Lee’s Summit community. On Wednesday awful news shocked our LSHS family. Mr. Scott Wilkinson, or some of you may know him as Coach Wilk, passed away from an unexpected heart attack.

He was an Industrial Technology teacher at Pleasant Lea Middle School and also a football and girls track coach at LSHS. He was a great man who cared for and loved everyone he knew. Mr Wilkinson’s passing passing took its toll on many students, teachers, and athletes. Although he wasn’t there, his spirit was still alive in our hearts and helped lead us to win the game against Olathe South. Mr. Wilkinson will forever be missed. A visitation for him will be held after school on Tuesday, September 19th after school at LSHS. I ask for you to have his family in your prayers as they go through this rough time.
